Microsomes & S9 >> Microsomes and S9 from Humans and Animals

Microsomes and S9

Features and Benefits
  • InVitroCYP™ Human liver microsomes, individual or pooled. Available in three different classes to meet your research needs. H-class for high enzyme activity; M-class for moderate; C-class for custom enzyme activity levels from one to 11 CYPs.
  • Convenience and Reproducibility. Why wait? Because our products are stable at -70C, you can keep an inventory of our products in your facility to conduct a multitude of experiments whenever you want.
  • Characterization. Each of our products has been characterized for a wide variety of enzyme activities, enabling you to select the lots best suited for your purposes. This is particularly convenient for selecting from our human products, which you can choose based on enzyme profiles as well as donor demographics (age, sex, race, etc.)

Liver microsomes and S9 fractions are available from humans and many animal species including the following:

  • Mouse (ICR/CD-1)
  • Rat (Sprague-Dawley, Wistar, and Fischer 344)
  • Guinea pig (Dunkin-Hartley)
  • Dog (Beagle)
  • Rabbit (New Zealand White)
  • Minipig (Yucatan)
  • Monkey (Cynomolgus and Rhesus)
Induced liver microsomes and S9 fractions are also available from male Sprague-Dawley rats that have been treated with different chemical enzyme inducers, including the following:

  • Aroclor 1254
  • b-Naphthoflavone
  • Clofibrate
  • Dexamethasone
  • Isoniazid
  • 3-Methylcholanthrene
  • Phenobarbital
Microsomes prepared from human intestine, kidney, and lung are also available. These products are valuable tools for studying the metabolism of your compounds and for examining the potential for drug-drug interactions. Individual and pooled human microsomes/S9 have been produced from a bank of 20+ different human livers, enabling you to use these products to predict "average" human metabolism of your compounds. For characterization and donor demographic information on microsomes and S9, view the characterization table.

Note: In Vitro Technologies can prepare custom orders of microsomes and S9 from other species not found on this list. Custom sizes are also available. To receive a quote for custom orders, fill out our custom product form.
