Celsis ReACT: Fast, RNA-based Assays

Introducing Celsis ReACT: the first easy-to-use molecular assay for detecting objectionable organisms—Gram negatives, Staph. aureus, fungi or select species—quickly and definitively without the need for expensive equipment or specialized training.

Rapid microbial detection systems from Celsis give you the power to release materials and products safely and in less time than traditional methods. Implementing a Celsis system will cut your manufacturing cycle times, reduce inventory levels and help get your products to market faster.

Celsis’ AKuScreen and RapiScreen reagents screen for the presence of microbial bioburden in your raw materials, in-process and finished goods in as few as 18 hours. As those products are screened negative for microbial contamination, you can rapidly release them into distribution. But what about those occasions when microbes are detected? Is it contamination by an objectionable organism? In your product? In your plant? Contamination events can cost companies hundreds of thousands, even millions of dollars.

Imagine knowing within hours of a positive result that your facility has been contaminated by an objectionable organism. The faster you know, the faster you can initiate corrective action:
• Stop production
• Halt the packaging line
• Scrap work-in-process
• Pull contaminated product
• Trace the source
• Isolate the material
• Clean the equipment
• Test the line
• Restart production

…in short, get back on track!

With Celsis ReACT, you have the confirmation you need to react faster—without waiting for time-consuming traditional plating results—reducing the costs of expensive rework and recalls that can damage your reputation and hurt your bottom line. Download the product literature (PDF, 174KB) now.

About the Assay

Celsis ReACT assays are based on innovative molecular technology that targets rRNA to match a microbial classification or species. You get the speed, simplicity and reliability of Celsis Rapid Detection coupled with the precision of advanced molecular biology.
Celsis ReACT is ideal for manufacturers who want a fast way to confirm the presence of objectionable micro-organisms such as Gram negatives, fungi, Staphylococcus aureus, or even a product- or facility-specific bug or wild strain through our custom ReACTion probe program.

Celsis Ribosomal RNA Technology

rRNA base sequences are highly conserved within microbial organisms, yet sufficiently distinct among species to be used as a means of differentiation. As a result, rRNA—particularly 16S and 18S rRNA—has emerged as a key tool for molecular-based microbial diagnostics. The Celsis ReACT assay targets 16S or 18S rRNA, using integrated probe sets to isolate specified contaminant organisms. Celsis LuminACT™ substrate is added and, in the presence of the specified target, light is emitted which is measured on the Celsis Advance luminometer.

Celsis ReACT RNA System

Simple protocols with user-friendly, color-coded steps comprise the industry’s easiest-to-use RNA system.
To run Celsis ReACT assays, you’ll need a few common lab instruments (centrifuge, pulsing vortex mixer and heat block), a Celsis Advance luminometer, and a Celsis ReACT assay kit.

Basic measuring and pipetting skills are all that’s required technically—the protocol is clear and straightforward, and the Celsis Advance luminometer reads the results definitively in minutes.

Contact Celsis Rapid Detection to order the ReACT starter system so you can ReACT to a Celsis Positive in only two hours.
